Migration in its various forms is part of the history of mankind. This module will introduce the participants to the history of migration from the beginning of the modern era until the present day. Based on relevant specialist literature the relationship between migration and globalization, which has only recently been researched historically and sociologically, will also be dealt with.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the module the participants will have
- Gained an understanding of the history of mankind as a history of migration
- Recognized the effects of migration on our present times
- Broadened their knowledge about the history of migration
- Reflected on the connections between migration and globalisation
