Videounterricht: 05.03.2022 - 09.04.2022
Einschreibeschluss:
06.02.2022
This course will be taught via video conferencing (Zoom)!
Understanding foundational pedagogy and andragogy greatly improves teaching in higher education. Optimizing for best learning overcomes teaching understood or practiced as information dissemination. This course will explore the characteristics of adult learners with special regard to the use of research-based teaching practices within the theological classroom. These include principles from cognitive science (the study of how people learn), social-emotional learning (including the affective domain), and brain research. In addition, constructive alignment in the form of backward-design-thinking will be studied as a guideline for both teaching and preaching. Lastly, the frameworks of cultural safety and cultural humility will be proposed as an alternative approach to “cultural competency” in teaching in a multicultural setting to show both honour and respect to all cultures represented in the theological classroom.
This course includes three phases:
Phase 1: online (Moodle), one week study time prior to live video period.
Phase 2: online (Zoom/Moodle), six consecutive Saturdays with 5 hours each of live class time (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
Phase 3: online (Moodle), all assignments must be submitted 8 weeks after 6th Saturday.
